After nearly two decades, one of Bollywood’s most emotional cult characters is back. Awarapan 2 brings Emraan Hashmi back as Shivam Pandit, and Bangladeshi fans of the 2007 original are counting down the days. Here is everything confirmed so far — release date, cast, story, music, and how you can watch it online in Bangladesh once it lands on streaming.
Awarapan 2 Release Date
Awarapan 2 is set to hit cinemas on 14 August 2026, timed with the Independence Day holiday weekend in India. The film was originally planned for an earlier 2025 slot but was pushed back to give the sequel a bigger festival release. For now, this is strictly a theatrical release — an official OTT (streaming) date has not been announced yet.
Cast & Crew
- Emraan Hashmi returns as Shivam Pandit, the emotionally scarred lead from the original.
- Disha Patani plays the female lead.
- Shabana Azmi joins in a key supporting role.
- Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Films (Vishesh Bhatt).
Story & Songs
The teaser hints at a story built around love, loss, and redemption — the same emotional core that made the first film a slow-burn cult favourite. The music brings back the franchise’s signature sound, with composers including Mithoon and Jeet Gannguli, and reimagined versions of beloved tracks from the original.
